Itinerary

Day 1 : South Plazas Island – Land Iguanas & Dramatic Cliffs

Your adventure begins with a visit to South Plazas Island, a small yet vibrant islet known for its striking red and green vegetation. The island is home to a large colony of land iguanas, which can often be seen resting under prickly pear cacti. Along the dramatic cliffs, you’ll observe swallow-tailed gulls, frigatebirds, and blue-footed boobies nesting on the rocky edges. The turquoise waters below are often filled with sea lions and playful seabirds diving for fish.

Lunch / Dinner

Day 2 : Santa Cruz Island – Black Turtle Cove & Highlands

In the morning, explore Black Turtle Cove, a serene mangrove lagoon where you’ll take a panga (dinghy) ride through calm waters. This area is a sanctuary for white-tipped reef sharks, sea turtles, rays, and schools of fish. With no landing required, it’s a peaceful way to observe marine life up close.

In the afternoon, head to the Santa Cruz Highlands, where you’ll encounter the iconic Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat. The lush greenery of this region contrasts with the coastal zones, providing insight into the island’s diverse ecosystems. You’ll also visit lava tunnels, underground formations created by ancient volcanic eruptions.

Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 3 : Genovesa Island – Darwin Bay & El Barranco

Genovesa Island, also called “Bird Island,” is a paradise for bird lovers. The morning begins at Darwin Bay, a stunning beach surrounded by cliffs where red-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and frigatebirds nest in the surrounding vegetation. Snorkeling here may reveal colorful reef fish, rays, and even hammerhead sharks.

In the afternoon, explore El Barranco (Prince Philip’s Steps), a steep rocky path leading to a plateau where thousands of seabirds, including storm petrels and short-eared owls, thrive. The volcanic scenery and dramatic ocean views make this one of the most breathtaking locations in the Galapagos.

Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 4 : Santiago Island – Sullivan Bay & Bartolomé Island

The day begins at Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island, where you’ll walk across a lava field formed by a volcanic eruption just 100 years ago. The rippling patterns and unique rock formations give the landscape an otherworldly appearance. Snorkeling here offers encounters with marine iguanas, sea turtles, and Galapagos penguins.

In the afternoon, visit Bartolomé Island, one of the most iconic landscapes in the Galapagos. Hike to the famous viewpoint overlooking Pinnacle Rock, a dramatic volcanic formation rising from the sea. Along the way, you might see lava lizards and Galapagos hawks. The nearby beach is an excellent spot for snorkeling with sea lions and penguins.

Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 5 : North Seymour Island & Transfer Out

On your final day, explore North Seymour Island, a hotspot for blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds. This is one of the best places to witness the frigatebird courtship display, where males inflate their red throat pouches to attract females. The island is also home to land iguanas and sea lions resting along the shore.

After this last excursion, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure, marking the end of an incredible Galapagos adventure.
