Itinerary

Day 1 : San Cristobal Island: Kicker Rock

Arrive in San Cristobal, the capital of the Galapagos. After settling into your accommodations, set off to explore Kicker Rock, a spectacular volcanic formation rising dramatically from the sea. This is one of the top snorkeling sites in the Galapagos, where you can swim alongside sea turtles, rays, and even hammerhead sharks. Hundreds of seabirds, including blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds, nest on the cliffs, creating an unforgettable wildlife spectacle.

Day 2 : North Seymour Island & South Plaza Island

Explore North Seymour Island, known for its abundant wildlife, including sea lions, blue-footed boobies, and magnificent frigatebirds. Hike through the dry landscape, spotting iguanas basking in the sun. In the afternoon, visit South Plaza Island, a small but vibrant ecosystem with steep cliffs, colorful vegetation, and one of the largest sea lion colonies in the archipelago. The contrasting red and green hues of the landscape make this a stunning photographic destination.

Day 3 : Rabida Island & Bartolome Island

Rabida Island is one of the most visually striking islands, featuring a deep red sandy beach and rich volcanic formations. Snorkeling here offers encounters with sea lions, marine iguanas, and colorful fish. Later, travel to Bartolome Island, home to the famous Pinnacle Rock. Hike to the summit for breathtaking panoramic views of the archipelago, then enjoy snorkeling alongside Galapagos penguins, reef sharks, and sea turtles in the crystal-clear waters.

Day 4 : Santiago Island: Sullivan Bay & Santa Cruz Island: Dragon Hill

Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island showcases a fascinating lava field, where you can walk over ancient molten rock formations. In the afternoon, visit Dragon Hill on Santa Cruz Island, home to a thriving population of land iguanas. The hiking trail offers stunning views and opportunities to observe a variety of bird species, including finches and flamingos in nearby lagoons.

Day 5 : Santa Cruz Island: Highlands & Twin Craters

Venture into the lush highlands of Santa Cruz, a stark contrast to the dry coastal zones. Here, you’ll see giant tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat. Explore the Twin Craters (Los Gemelos), massive sinkholes formed by volcanic activity, surrounded by a dense Scalesia forest. The area is a paradise for birdwatchers, with chances to spot the elusive vermilion flycatcher and other endemic species.

Day 6 : Genovesa Island: El Barranco & Darwin Bay

Genovesa, also known as “Bird Island,” is a remote paradise for bird lovers. Hike up Prince Philip’s Steps at El Barranco to see red-footed boobies, Galapagos doves, and short-eared owls. In the afternoon, explore Darwin Bay, a white sandy beach surrounded by mangroves. Snorkel in its clear waters, where you might spot hammerhead sharks, rays, and a variety of colorful fish.

Day 7 : Santiago Island: Espumilla Beach, Buccaneer Cove & Egas Port

Visit Espumilla Beach, a nesting site for sea turtles and home to Sally Lightfoot crabs. Continue to Buccaneer Cove, once a refuge for pirates, now a breathtaking landscape with towering cliffs and seabirds. In the afternoon, explore Egas Port, a black sand beach where Galapagos fur sea lions bask on the rocks. Walk along tide pools filled with marine life, and enjoy a final snorkeling session with playful sea lions.

Day 8 : Santa Cruz Island: Bachas Beach & Departure

End your journey at Bachas Beach, a beautiful white sand beach where you can swim and observe flamingos, herons, and nesting sea turtles. Finally, transfer to Baltra Airport for your flight back to the mainland, concluding your unforgettable Galapagos adventure.
