Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival & San Cristobal – Interpretation Center
Day 2 : Española Island – Gardner Bay & Suarez Point
Begin the day with a wet landing at Gardner Bay, home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galapagos. Walk among a colony of sea lions and spot the endemic Hood mockingbirds. Snorkeling in the turquoise waters offers a chance to swim alongside playful sea lions. In the afternoon, explore Suarez Point, one of the most spectacular wildlife sites in the islands. This area is famous for its Waved Albatross colony (April-December), dramatic cliffs, and the impressive blowhole where ocean waves burst into the air.
Day 3 : Floreana Island – Post Office Bay & Devil’s Crown
At Post Office Bay, continue the centuries-old tradition of leaving postcards in a wooden barrel, a relic from whaling times. Then, explore Cormorant Point, where a short trail leads to a flamingo-inhabited lagoon and a white-sand beach where green sea turtles nest. Snorkeling at Devil’s Crown, an eroded volcanic crater, offers encounters with vibrant marine life, including reef sharks, eagle rays, and large schools of fish. The visit concludes at Champion Islet, the last refuge of the rare Floreana mockingbird.
Day 4 : Santa Cruz – Charles Darwin Station & Highlands
Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora, where conservation efforts to protect the Galapagos giant tortoise are showcased. Learn about breeding programs and spot different species of tortoises. In the afternoon, head to the lush highlands, where giant tortoises roam freely. Walking through this misty forest offers opportunities to observe Darwin’s finches, flycatchers, and other endemic bird species.
Day 5 : Santa Cruz – Ballena Bay & Eden Islet
On your final day, explore Ballena Bay and Eden Islet, two excellent spots for snorkeling, kayaking, and wildlife watching. The mangrove areas provide habitat for sea turtles, marine iguanas, and a variety of seabirds. Snorkeling reveals schools of angelfish, parrotfish, and possibly reef sharks. After this final marine adventure, you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight back to the mainland.
