Galapagos Naturalist Expert Contributors
About the Network
Galapagos Islands Travel draws on a network of GNPS-certified naturalist guides who work across multiple operators in the Galapagos. The site does not depend on a single operator’s guide roster; instead, it brings in naturalist perspective from across the industry so the content reflects how the islands actually operate multiple vessels, multiple itineraries, multiple visitor-site rotations.
Lead Contributor
Juan Magallanes

- Latin Trails (one of several operator sources)
- Additional GNPS-certified contributors across operators listed where they have contributed
GNPS Certification
Overview
All naturalist contributors on Galapagos Islands Travel are GNPS-certified (Galápagos National Park Service). GNPS recognizes multiple certification levels reflecting training, experience, and language skills. The site refers to certification generally; specific site-access privileges by level are determined by GNPS regulations and are not described in detail on contributor pages unless verified.
How the Network Contributes
- Factual review of wildlife, visitor-site, and itinerary content
- Field perspective on seasonality, conditions, and current sightings
- Q&A and FAQ input framed as naturalist knowledge, not verbatim quotes
- Input to the Galapagos Islands Travel Data Index
Editorial Coordination
Contributor input is coordinated by André Robles, editorial lead at Voyagers, working with the Galapagos Islands Travel editorial team. The goal is a content layer that is naturalist-accurate, operator-balanced, and useful to travelers, trade partners, and journalists.
