Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival & Chinese Hat Islet
Day 2 : Isabela Island (vicente Roca Point) & Fernandina Island (espinosa Point)
Explore Isabela Island, the largest in the archipelago, formed by six active volcanoes. It is home to unique wildlife, including the pink iguana and the highest population of giant tortoises in the Galápagos. At Vicente Roca Point, marvel at stunning geological formations and spot seabirds such as blue-footed and Nazca boobies. Snorkeling here offers a chance to see whales, dolphins, and marine life.
Continue to Fernandina Island, one of the most pristine ecosystems in the world, free of invasive species. Dominated by La Cumbre volcano, this island features dramatic lava landscapes and is a nesting site for Galápagos penguins and flightless cormorants.
Day 3 : Isabela Island (tagus Cove & Urbina Bay)
Tagus Cove, located on Isabela’s western coast, was a historical refuge for pirates and whalers. Hike to Darwin Lake, a volcanic crater filled with saltwater.
Further south, Urbina Bay showcases geological uplift phenomena, where coral reefs were lifted above sea level by volcanic activity. This site is rich in biodiversity, offering sightings of giant tortoises, land iguanas, and flightless cormorants.
Day 4 : Isabela Island (elizabeth Bay & Moreno Point)
Elizabeth Bay is a haven for birdwatchers, with mangrove forests and lagoons teeming with seabirds and sea turtles.
At Moreno Point, black volcanic landscapes contrast with lush lagoons, hosting a variety of endemic species. Snorkeling and boat excursions reveal vibrant marine ecosystems and diverse seabirds.
Day 5 : Santa Cruz Island (charles Darwin Research Station & Highlands)
Visit Santa Cruz Island, home to the largest human population in the Galápagos. The Charles Darwin Research Station is a hub for conservation, particularly the Giant Tortoise Restoration Program, where you can see different stages of tortoise development.
Explore the highlands, characterized by lush vegetation and underground lava tunnels, and spot wild giant tortoises in their natural habitat.
Day 6 : South Plaza Island & Santa Fe Island
South Plaza Island, though small, is rich in biodiversity. It features a striking landscape of red Sesuvium plants and towering prickly pear cacti, which serve as a vital food source for land iguanas.
Santa Fe Island is known for its endemic Santa Fe land iguanas and unique Opuntia cacti. Once home to giant tortoises, the island also hosts a large sea lion colony and occasional sightings of Galápagos hawks.
Day 7 : Española Island (suarez Point & Gardner Bay)
Española is the oldest Galápagos island and home to the world’s only Waved Albatross breeding colony. The dramatic cliffs at Suarez Point provide incredible wildlife encounters, including blue-footed and Nazca boobies, marine iguanas, and swallow-tailed gulls.
Relax at Gardner Bay, known for its pristine white sand beach and friendly sea lion colony. Spot three species of finches and the inquisitive Española Mockingbird. Between January and March, green sea turtles nest on this beach.
Day 8 : San Cristóbal Island (interpretation Center & Departure)
Visit Lobos Island, home to nesting blue-footed boobies and frigate birds, as well as playful sea lions and marine iguanas. Enjoy stunning views of Kicker Rock before concluding your Galápagos adventure.
You will then be transferred to San Cristóbal Airport for your departure to mainland Ecuador. Safe travels!
